Always Watching

I think I know for sure
There’s something going on
There’s a message hidden in the noise
They say there is no cure
Nothing left that’s pure
They sell the truth but they’re telling lies

Who’s been haunting me and you
Not a lot that we can do
Cause they’re always watching
Ooh, so you think you know the truth
But you listen to the spooks
And the head that’s talking

I see an open door
I hear a pretty song
Sometimes I feel like nothing’s wrong
Can’t tell if I’m awake
Don’t know what’s real or fake
I see demons escaping the wrath of god

Who’s been haunting me and you
Not a lot that we can do
Cause they’re always watching
Ooh, so you think you know the truth
But you listen to the spooks
And the head that’s talking

Commodities

Shots are ringing out in the rougher parts of town
The ones that built this city but have been forgotten now
The streets are filled with screaming but the rest don’t hear a sound
They’re gated off and greedy, taking joy in looking down

Suffering in silence, all the voices never heard
The odds are fixed against us, no the chances aren’t too good
If we can cure our blindness and treat each other like we should
We might stand a chance at surviving and discovering the truth

Don’t look back, don’t give up
Don’t lose track, never sell your soul
If you fall I’ll pick you up
I don’t give a damn where you came from
We’re all human beings but they see us as commodities
Can’t believe what’s happening
This isn’t my idea of free

Give your heart, give your love
Take me as you see me, I’ll take you as you come
If we can cure our blindness and treat each other like we should
We might stand a chance at surviving and discovering the truth

Don’t look back, don’t give up
Don’t lose track, never sell your soul
If you fall I’ll pick you up
I don’t give a damn where you came from
We’re all human beings but they treat us as commodities
Can’t believe what’s happening to me

Fell For You

You’re the one I’ve been thinking of
You’re too much fun
And I can’t wait till you get home
You’ve got a way
I need it every day
If you let me stay I’ll give away everything I own

You and I make a love that never dies
It opens my eyes, everything’s new
Hold me tight, we can make it if we try
I never fall but I fell for you

You’re the one I’ve been dreaming of
When the day is done
You and me gonna set the sun
You got a way
I need it every day
If you let me stay I’ll unlearn everything I know

All the time love is right before our eyes
You never know when, you never know how
I had to try when you took me by surprise
Look at us go, look at us now

You and I make a love that never dies
It opens my eyes, everything’s new
Hold me tight, we can make it if we try
I never fall but I fell for you

Something Else Beyond

I heard an old tale about a place where the ocean meets the sun
It’s a strange land with a new man, not like what we are
He’s a cold one with a cobra wrapped around his arm
You can go there, but you should take care not to go too far

I wanna travel to a place we’ve never gone
Where the secrets of the ages will be known
Will we find out everything we know is wrong?

It’s like a seedling, you get a feeling rising in your gut (not giving up)
Now you’re seething, still breathing but your eyes are swollen shut
I hit the ceiling when I was dreaming and I woke up in a rut (not giving up)
They deceived me and I was weak, now my eyes have opened up

I wanna travel to a place we’ve never gone
Where the secrets of the ages will be known
Will we find out everything we know is wrong?

I heard an old tale about a place where everything is gone
No highways, no cities, just a lot of space to run
And we can go there, start over, learn to sing a different song
And we’d be grateful that we could see there was something else beyond

I wanna travel to a place we’ve never gone
Where the secrets of the ages will be known
Will we find out everything we know is wrong?

Wars Not Over

We leave tonight, bring only what you can carry
To the other side, got a brother waiting in Paris
There’s a station across the border
I hate to say it but the wars not over

Want to stay and fight, can’t see another loved one buried
Didn’t say “goodbye”, couldn’t risk the chance of someone sharing
Stay quiet, like a ghost
Keep running cause we’re getting closer

Minds filled with violent scenes, someone’s crooked schemes
Haunting all my dreams, I’m losing sleep
Those things I can’t unsee, they’re a part of me
I won’t forget the fallen when we’re free

We ran for miles in the dead of night so weary
Had to dodge the lights, they almost got us but we made it barely
To the station across the border
I hate to say it but the wars not over yet

Centuries Of Lies

No will gotta break my mind
Can’t chill I’m running out of time
I want more years
Throw a ratchet in the gears
No skill gotta change my lines
Feel ill but I still commit that crime
No more tears
Gotta banish all my fears

Making up for time so I kick it into overdrive
Centuries of lies under such a plain disguise
Now I’m getting wise

Those thrills how they made them shine
So bright for young unknowing eyes
All our dreams it was magic on the screen
Sends chills up and down my spine
Late nights at their unholy shrines
Think you’re free
Know that nothing’s what it seems

Making up for time so I kick it into overdrive
Facing up to lies, even ones I told myself
Time to kill the vice

This shit’s do-or-die, when they come for me I won’t comply
Centuries of lies, they’ve been fucking with my mind

Changing over night, guess it’s time for me to get what’s mine
Centuries of lies, they’ve been fucking up my life
But now I’m getting right

Sat still waiting for a sign
Uphill a mountain I did climb
Through the trees
Till I felt like I was free.

Neon Glow

I’m getting tired of these afflictions
A little bored with my addictions
I came here on a mission

But lately I’ve been slipping
I haven’t lost sight of my vision

Still I feel like something’s missing
Then a voice inside says “leave it all”
It’s an endless grind in the urban sprawl

So I cut ties, say goodbye to the world I know
And drive off in the night
I can’t vibe with the city lights and all this neon glow
They’re chasing after

I’m in need of a vacation
From all these negative vibrations
But I won’t forget the faces
Of the people they’re displacing
And a voice inside says “leave it all”
You will lose your mind in the urban sprawl

So I cut ties, say goodbye to the world I know
And drive off in the night
I can’t vibe with the city lights and all this neon glow
They’re chasing after
We’ll drive on a summer night to a brand new home
Up high on a mountain side where the spirits roam
And nature is master

Above a Goldmine

I might get it right one day though it seems I never will
Got a little fight in me and a beast I have to kill

Living every day for the good time
Only feels so great for a short while
I’ve been wasting away above a goldmine
Falling into my grave
But there’s hope cause she cares

Somewhere along the way my innocence was slain
But tonight I’m resurrecting, I’ll walk into the flames

Living every day for the good time
Only feels so great for a short while
I’ve been wasting away above a goldmine
Falling into my grave
Is there hope for me?

Yea, there’s hope cause she cares
There’s hope cause she cares
Yea, there’s hope cause she cares

The Reason I Was Born

Rainy days
I like to spend them in my bedroom locked away
With my guitar a cup of tea and a book for me to read
That’s all I need
That’s where I’ll stay

I rent a room in my own head, don’t have to pay
And not a soul can bother me, I’m too high up in my tree
Don’t want to leave

But up ahead I see a storm
I know deep down I need to change my course
I won’t sleep until I know what this all means
What I was put here for
I’m searching for the reason I was born

I’ve been afraid

To look myself right in the eyes and not turn away
Because it’s hard to finally see you’re not the man you want to be
But I believe
That I can change
It’s not too late, I’ll summon all my will and strength
For the possibility to live a life that’s really free
That’s what I need

But up ahead I see a war
Where neither side knows what they’re fighting for
Because they watched TV and were misinformed
They didn’t read the histories that warn
They won’t weep, they won’t mourn
Until the fabric of their lives is torn
So I won’t sleep until I know
What this all means, what I was put here for
I’m searching for the reason I was born

Look Sharp

Forget my history
This is a new beginning
My past won’t haunt me anymore
I’m not concerned with winning
See, there’s a different ending
My ego dies here on the floor

Look sharp, cause I’m about to change
Everything I used to do will be so strange
Turning into who I’m meant to be
Hold tight, cause you’re about to see

Goodbye to misery
A dios dependency
Can’t say I’ll miss you when you’re gone
Got so much time worth spending
Think it’s time to stop pretending
Like I don’t know what’s right or wrong

Look sharp, cause I’m about to change
Everything I used to do will be so strange
Turning into who I’m meant to be
To realize my destiny

I’ve been trying to solve this equation but I just keep getting stuck
No such thing as luck they say but I can’t keep giving up
Haven’t had enough
